Aircraft Conversion and Upgrade Alliance (ACUA)
WALTER a.s., a major manufacturer of turboprop engines in Europe formed the Aircraft Conversion and Upgrade Alliance in 2002. The ACUA is an Alliance of companies involved in the conversion and upgrade of aircraft with the Walter M601 engine. The process of establishing the ACUA was a natural evolution of the growth of WALTER's engine business. The engines are currently being installed in a number of Agricultural, Utility and Business Aircraft in the Americas and other countries around the world. The Alliance was founded in May of 2002 during a meeting at the WALTER factory in Prague, Czech Republic.
Twenty one companies have joined to date and additional companies are expected to join in the future. The companies participating in the Alliance are located in Canada, Czech Republic, New Zealand, South Africa and United States. The ACUA will benefit the companies through sharing technology, marketing intelligence and manufacturing capacity. The Alliance provides a base for expansion of the product support of the individual products and the WALTER M601 engine.
